Last sunday I visited the Designkwartier festival in The Hague. It’s becoming a tradition to visit the festival with two of my dear friends. And do some catching up in the meantime.

Highlights

As always our highlight was WOTH Wonderful Things that, especially for the festival turned into a warehouse with dutch and danish design. Among other things you could see furniture of  Woud, work of Leff Amsterdam, Hasan Tasdemir, NLXL, Klaas Kuiken, Dieter Volker, Susan Bijl (bags), Laurien Dumbar (paintings) and jewelry of Edith van Kan.

We sat down in the beautiful patio and enjoyed a glass of wine. Such a beautiful place. The owners make you feel at home and the design and styling is to die for. The former milk factory is also for rent for private dining.

I admired the products of designduo Spitsberg. I love the minimal design, the beauty and detail.

We also visited Koppenwinkel, a pop-up store with beautiful ceramics of  House of Thol, Studio Harm & Elke, Fenna Oosterhoff, Inge Simonis, 3TREEceramics, Mara Skujeniece, Alissa & Nienke, Studio Ineke van der Werff, Studio Remy and Lisanne van Zanten. I wanted to buy them all.

We had a great time at the festival, can’t wait for next year!

Festival Designkwartier mixes presentations, shops, activities, and exhibitions in the design field into an inspiring event. For three days, the Zeeheldenkwartier is the domain of leading designers and new talent with exciting projects. You will find special design for everyday use as well as inventive and witty objects to think about. During the festival, the designers are present to illustrate their work. This way, the visitor is challenged to view obvious matters in a different way. The route is inspiring as it runs along about 50 diverse locations, such as pop-up stores, shops, galleries, museum Panorama Mesdag, national monument the Temple, art center Stroom Den Haag and surprising places such as courtyards, houses and industrial warehouses. >> Festival Designkwartier

Autumn flowers 🍁✨ A couple of weeks ago I was cleaning out the house of my late mother and unfortunately got an allergic reaction from the dust that triggered bronchitis. Luckily I am feeling a bit better again. Have a lovely evening my friends 🧡
